We went to the beach a week after Say-Say's wedding and had a wonderful time! We went with my parents and Sarah and Anthony. The kids LOVE the beach and had such fun digging in the sand, searching for seashells, jumping waves, building sandcastles, playing with MuMu and Poppa and just running all over Surfside Beach! :) Jack took no time to warm up to the waves this year...he was ready to go 'way far out' with John from the moment we hit the sand. There were some pretty big rip tides (or currents, not sure which is right?) in the water, so they weren't able to go out too far, but enough for Jack to enjoy jumping over some pretty big waves. Rylee was completely fearless...as usual. She would walk right up to the water and would've kept going in if we'd let her. She loved jumping the little waves and enjoyed the tidal pools in the afternoon. She was also obsessed with snacking on the beach. From the moment we got there each morning, she was asking for snacks...and she still ate lunch in the afternoon. Silly girl!
We look forward to this trip every year and it always goes by so quickly. Good thing I took 473 pictures during the week to remember every single moment! :) We were pretty much just beach bums the whole week. We didn't really do any major outings other than a little outlet shopping because we just love being on the beach. We'd stay on the beach as late as the kids would let us, fix easy meals for supper and eat way past normal bedtime, then get the kids off to bed. Then, the adults enjoyed a lot of fun games and yummy drinks! ;) We did enjoy one wonderful dinner in Murrell's Inlet at Lee's Inlet Kitchen...YUM! Love that place!

Here are the pictures...it's a lot...remember I was narrowing down from 473!

Jack and Rylee loved playing with MuMu and SaySay
Rylee taking off towards the water. She'd come up to the tent, grab her toys and off she goes. Check out the sandy bottom....YUCK!
This boy is always on the move!

Daddy and Jack coming out of the water after some fun wave jumping!

Miss Priss just hanging out in the water...she loved wearing her sunglasses on the beach and kept them on the whole time!

Searching for seashells together...they really did play well together. Sweet boy carrying Rylee's bucket for her...such a gentleman! :)

We had some really windy days on the beach, so Jack and Daddy were able to fly the kite that MuMu and Poppa got him. This isn't a great picture of it flying...I was trying to video and take pics at the same time and I don't think I got a good still shot once it was up in the air good!

Jack and Daddy 'way far out' in the ocean jumping the waves...John said that Jack giggled the entire time they were out there- he loved it!

waving to Momma...

One morning, Daddy dug a really big hole and filled it with water for the kids to play in...they had a lot of fun watching the tide slowly rise and fill up the hole...

One of the days we were there, a shark was spotted in the water...while Jack and John were out wave jumping! I was a little freaked out. We got to see it at one point, but I wasn't quick enough to get a picture. It was apparently a small (maybe 3 or 4 foot) hammerhead. Lovely! Here's a pic of the crowd that developed watching all the chaos...fun times!
