Lights at the zoo!

We always enjoy going to the Lights before Christmas at the zoo...it's become an annual event for our family.  Last year, we enjoyed unseasonably warm weather when we went- we were able to walk around with no coats on...John even wore short sleeves.  This year, is was FREEZING!  We were so bundled up...hats, coats, gloves, scarves...everything.  I had the kids dressed in cute Christmas outfits, but you'll never see them in any of the pictures because they were so bundled up!  Really makes me question (again) the whole global warming thing! ;)  Anyways, we had a good time despite the chilly temperatures.  Santa was at the zoo and we decided to try again at getting Rylee to chat with the big guy.  She was really excited about it while we waited in line, but we weren't sure what she'd do when it got to be our turn.  Well, after a few seconds of nervousness, she settled right in on Santa's lap and chatted away.  She told Santa she wanted 'pink presents'...her standard response this season when anyone asked her what she wanted for Christmas.  Jack sat with the big guy too and spouted off his list like he'd practiced it 100 times!  Good thing there were no surprises added to the list! :)  Rylee and Jack were both very excited about having got a chance to talk to Santa again.  We even made a stop at Rush's for a special treat...Hot Fudge Sundae!  Yum!  Even on a cold night, ice cream is always a good idea.

All bundled up and ready to get started...

Daddy, Jack and Rylee with the gorillas...

This tree was so cool...the lights changed colors in time with the music!  The kids loved dancing to the music and watching the lights...

Everybody out of the stroller to stretch their legs...

Jack loves a ride on Daddy's shoulders!

Talking to Santa Claus!

Jack specifically requested having his picture made with this nutcracker at the entrance of the zoo before we left...
