Bright and early Saturday morning we loaded up the kiddos into the van (still in their pjs) and headed down the road to Aiken to visit with my Me-Me and Dat-Dat! We got there for breakfast (which is worth the trip itself!) and stayed until naptime after lunch. Jack LOVED all the grits, eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese and toast that Me-Me made and probably ate more than all of us did! Me-Me and Dat-Dat had a few special treats for Jack when we got there...some bubbles and play-doh! Jack has recently become super-obsessed with play-doh, so he was in hog heaven! We played for awhile and just hung out before lunch. We had yummy salmon stew for lunch and we weren't sure if Jack would like it...he did! Our kid will eat anything! Rylee was a good girl for the trip and enjoyed getting spoiled being held most of the day! She's grown a good bit since they'd seen her last and they were so excited to see her again!
Rylee got lots of lovin' from Me-Me and Dat-Dat!
Jack enjoyed listening to Dat-Dat play the mandolin...and he helped play some too!
He also had fun helping Me-Me in the kitchen!
Playing with the Hess truck Me-Me and Dat-Dat gave Jack
We feel so blessed that our children are able to know some many of their Great-Grandparents...what a special relationship! Jack always enjoys seeing Me-Me and Dat-Dat and I know that Rylee will be the same way!
