Week in review...

We had a busy and fun week! On Monday, we headed to church for the last meeting of Jack's 'Bible Bookworm Club.' This was a fun summer activity for preschoolers that the church started this year. The club met every other Monday and at each meeting, they would read a bible story and have a craft and snack related to the story. We had a special bible storybook and read stories from it at home, too. Jack loved it and really learned a lot. His favorite bible stories are Jonah and the Whale, Noah's Ark, and Daniel in the lion's den. It's so awesome to hear him tell me all about the bad people of Nineveh, the animals going two by two into the ark and how God protected Daniel from the big lions. He loves reading bible stories and I hope that continues throughout his life!!

We hung out at home on Tuesday and enjoyed a lot of playtime in the playroom. Rylee is really getting into playing with her toys and it's so cute to see. She is obsessed with her little popup toy. You know, the one that has the little levers and buttons that you push or pull and then the little door pops up. She can't really make the doors open yet (Jack helps with that part), but she really enjoys closing the doors. She is so close to crawling. She gets down onto all fours and moves her arms, but she can't quite get her legs to do what she wants them to do. She gets a little frustrated and ends up just rolling over, but she's getting really close. I give her another week or two and she'll be a pro! I better get ready! :)

We went to the pool with some friends on Wednesday...but I forgot to take any pictures. I know, bad Momma! We had a really good time and enjoyed a picnic lunch too. Jack, Emily and Grant played on the playground after lunch and everyone went home tired and ready for naptime!

Thursday was another hanging around the house kind of day. We played in the playroom and took a nice walk around the neighborhood. It was really cool in the morning and was actually pleasant to be outside! Really makes me ready for fall!

We went to a fun place called Leapin' Lizards on Friday with our friends. It's been a while since we've been there and Jack, Hodges, Emily and Grant all had a great time! It's a neat place with all kinds of fun activities for the kids as well as big inflatable bounce houses too. Jack had a great time playing with the train table (of course), the play kitchen and cash register, and the bounce house slide! Rylee just hung out playing with her toys and scooting around on the floor...she's such a good girl!

Next week is our last week before school starts back...can't believe the summer is over! Jack will be going to preschool at the same school he went to last year. He'll go on Tuesdays and Thursdays and is really excited about starting back. We have 'Meet the Teachers' on Friday, so hopefully that'll get him all ready to go! I'm looking forward to having some time to spend with just Rylee while Jack is in school as well as easier trips to the store with only one little one! :)

Pictures of our week...

Jack showing off his craft at Bible Bookworm...they made little fish using CD's...we read the story of Jesus feeding 5000 with the 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread! Our snack was goldfish crackers and biscuits...they did such a good job coordinating everything! :)

Enjoying a fudgesicle with Daddy after lunch

Playing in the playroom...Rylee has been enjoying the Leap Frog table! We took two of the legs off so she can play with it sitting down.

Playing on Jack's laptop- he's just mastered the little mouse that goes with it! He's so proud of himself and has been having fun playing the 'left/right' game since he now knows his left and right!
