The Sunday before Christmas we headed to Aiken-town to 'do Christmas' with my Mom's side of the family. We met over at my Aunt and Uncle's house for lunch. There was a lot of kid playing, football watching, food eating, and present opening. My Grandmother's (Na-Na) birthday is December 16th, so a little birthday celebrating was done too! :)
Jack has recently been talking a lot about his cousins. Not sure what has brought this up lately seeing as how his 4 cousins all moved to Hawaii around the time he turned 2, so I'm not sure he has many memories about playing with them...but the boy does have a crazy good memory, so maybe! He talks about wanting to go see them (in Hawaii? ME TOO!) and I feel bad that he's the only grandkid playing around here...since Rylee isn't up running around yet. Anyways, my cousin has a little boy who is in kindergarten and Jack had such a good time playing with his 'cousin'. He was so cute following Michael around and wanting to do everything like the big kid! Michael was very sweet and good with Jack and they really played well together. We will have to get them together more often!

Jack was very excited about the present opening...he wanted to help everyone. He had fun opening, but his box contained clothes...boring! He proceeded to say 'oh' and give them to me and then move on to 'helping' the next person. Such a typical boy! Rylee helped a little too and hopefully she'll grow up to appreciate the value of a box containing clothes! :)
~On another note...my Na-Na has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer that has spread to her abdomen. She is feeling ok right now and they are currently doing radiation treatments. From what the doctor's say, the treatments are not going to cure her, but may give her a little more time and help the quality of life to be better during that time by having less pain. I have been so blessed to have my grandparents around and such a part of mylife for so long...they all only live about an hour away and we have always been very close to them. It's tough to see them getting older and to realize they won't always be here. Anyways, please keep my Na-Na in your prayers as she continues on the journey. I know God's plan is always right and perfect, but it's still hard to see someone you love going through something so difficult. Thank you for your prayers and I will try to keep you updated.
And, of course, the pictures...
